Supplement Magnesium for Better Growth & Nutrition

MgCO3 is an inorganic salt with the chemical name Magnesium Carbonate. It is also called Magnesite Hydro magnesite or Barringtonite. Natural magnesium carbonate, calcined at a temperature of approx. 900oC, known as caustic calcined magnesia, is the principal magnesium source used in the feed industry, to provide supplementary magnesium to ruminant animals, predominantly, due to its highest bioavailability and Mg concentration.
Hydrated forms of magnesite such as di, tri, and tetrahydrates are present as mineral elements. It acts as a fertiliser and as an antacid.
IMPORTANCE FOR FARM ANIMALS
Mg in farm animals is recommended to avoid Mg deficiency, ensure adequate growth and health maintenance. Mg supplementation above estimated minimum requirements is the best practice to improve farm animals’ performances and food products quality and yield esp. in cattle, pigs and poultry. The practice of supplementing feedstuffs with Mg is widely used, with the primary aim to avoid Mg deficiency and then to improve animal performance (fertility and yield) and sometimes products’ quality.
Magnesium Carbonate is often used in cattle feed as Magnesium nutritional supplement especially for the dairy cattle which can produce high yield of milk.
Animals require Mg as an enzymatic cofactor involved in energy metabolism, DNA synthesis and cell growth and also for adequate functioning of muscle cells, signal transmission of nerves and structural component of bones .
